In the series “War on Terror” (2005), Trantenroth painted scenes of destruction on varied foundations (canvas both stretched and unstretched, as well as paper), each devoid of people and focused on destruction and detritus of the surroundings. In Police Headquarters, Baghdad (2004), a car is depicted overturned in thick swaths of color.
