EVI LICHTUNGEN: International Light Art Biennial Hildesheim

Kunstmuseum Schloss Derneburg is pleased to participate for the second time in the 2024 EVI LICHTUNGEN festival. The collaboration once again includes work by Keith Sonnier but also introduces installations by Jenny Holzer, Angela Bulloch and Olafur Eliasson. Each artist engages with novel forms of sculpture using light, while considering visitor engagement and the role of technology in contemporary life.

The fifth edition of the Light Art Biennale EVI LICHTUNGEN will take place from January 25 to 28, 2024. International artists will once again transform public space into an extraordinary light art parcours. They will create new perspectives on places and current socially relevant issues, relate the city's history to its current events, and generate new spaces of experience. With allies and cooperation partners in the city and from outside, where festival organizers generate enthusiasm and together generate perspectives, resources, and potential.

The connection between the museum and the festival is further strengthened with a loan of work by Olafur Eliasson, exhibited by EVI LICHTUNGEN at the Roemer- and Pelizaeus-Museum, located at the centre of the festival in Hildesheim.
