Norbert Bisky: Zentrifuge : Kunsthalle Rostock, Rostock, Germany

NORBERT BISKY. ZENTRIFUGE is the most comprehensive solo exhibition to date of the painter, born in Leipzig in 1970. The Kunsthalle Rostock presents a comprehensive overview of all phases of his work, as well as newly created pieces, across its entire upper floor. The artist will also create a site-specific installation specifically for the building's atrium.

With around 80 paintings, the exhibition focuses on the medium that forms the basis of Norbert Bisky's artistic self-conception: painting. Bisky's ongoing engagement with this medium also results in his exploration of other materials and genres, particularly his transcendence of the picture plane, for example, in his collaborations with the Berlin State Ballet and the Berghain club last year.
