A stop-motion animation film combining found footage of news reports in which the military offer free cosmetic surgery to war veterans, interventions onto reproductions of portraits from art history, and painted images on glass. Cosmetic surgery can be seen as part of a concept of the 'makeable' human, a cyborgian hybrid of the artificial and the natural. At a moment when technology is redefining the body's limits, Colburn's film questions where the boundary of what it is to be human lies.
