Visitors are introduced to the 900-year history of Schloss Derneburg by experienced and local guides during a historic guided tour of the castle grounds.
INFO The castle's interiors are not visited as part of the historical tour.

Suitable for visitors who would like to get an overview of the art exhibitions on view in the main building of Schloss Derneburg.
INFO The Art Highlights in the Castle Tour focuses exclusively on exhibitions in the castle building. Exhibitions in the neighboring buildings are included in the Focus Tour. We recommend booking the tour as part of the dual guided tour offer.

Focus Guided Tour Through Selected Exhibitions (incl. sculpture park access)

Ideal for visitors who would like to delve deeper into the content of individual exhibitions. Focus Tours are currently offered through the exhibitions Per Kirkeby: The Motif is the Memory, The Inside Out, Collection Room, The Passion: Redux and Baselitz in the Studio. From May 31, Nicole Eisenman: Schloss Lyfe will also be available.

Punctuality is essential. Arrivals after the tour has started will be unable to join the tour.
Visitor Information
We ask all visitors to treat the buildings, the art and the park with respect. Please do not make phone calls in the exhibition rooms and stay on the designated paths. Pets and the consumption of brought-in food and drink is not permitted. Smoking, including e-cigarettes, is prohibited on the entire premises. Large handbags, rucksacks and umbrellas must be stored in the lockers upon arrival. Please follow the instructions of our staff.
Accessibility
The museum is partially barrier-free. Free wheelchairs can be reserved in advance. Our staff are there to assist if required. An elevator and barrier-free sanitary facilities are available. Parts of the outdoor area are covered with gravel. The paths through the wooded part of the castle park are not paved. The historic entrance to the cloister is interrupted by a few steps. There are some historic doorsteps on the first floor that may require assistance to overcome.
Families
Our youngest visitors are also very welcome. The rule is: one accompanying adult per child. We ask accompanying adults to ensure that the safety of the artwork is guaranteed, and that consideration is shown for other visitors. Running and romping around is not permitted. We ask accompanying persons to take children under 6 years of age by the hand. Children may not be carried on the back or shoulders. For safety reasons, we reserve the right to prohibit access with baby carriages.
